With all the hype leading up to the No Step, Hutto and Schafer sale and the speculation about prices of goats, buyers from 11 states packed the sale pavilion to see what all the fuss was about. We had 109 registered buyers and many more spectators. The bidding started out slow but by the time lot 4 came in the ring the buyers had warmed up and were ready to get serious. Lot 5, a Freak son, topped the sale (as predicted on Breeders' World) at 30,000. Steve and Diana Boscamp from Skidmore TX ended up taking him home. Last year they were the contending bidder on the high seller and Steve told me they had been saving all year so that would not happen again. We are happy for them and look forward to seeing what this new buck does for their program. I said it in the catalog, I truly believe he will be a game changer.

We also had 3 other bucks bring 20,000 a piece. Lot 9 went to Paul Payne and Mike Harbour. Lot 12 went to Marty Overholt from Ohio and Duane Sickles from Indiana. And lot 17 the full brother to Freak went to Clay Everheart in Bronte TX.

The high selling doe was lot 54 a full sister to Ace. She brought 3,900 and went to Jill Gladden of Gladden show wethers in Muleshoe TX. And the high selling doe kid was lot 37, she sold for 3,000 and went to Tammie Reeves in Coleman TX.

As usual we have a lot of people to thank for helping us at the sale. Thad and Teresa Metcalf, Pam and Tate Leatherwood, The whole Cobb family, Dr. Clark McDaniel, Mike McDaniel, Kimmie Ogle, Shandee Vaughn, Mr. and Mrs. Tye Williamson and of course Zach and Quinton and the "Blue Crew".
